BGI, G10K set goals for next stage in animal sequencing collaboration
NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – BGI and the Genome 10K Consortium today announced the next phase of their collaboration to sequence the genomes of vertebrate species.
In Phase II of their collaboration, BGI and G10K will fund and execute the sequencing of the genomes of 10,000 vertebrate species, with a goal of completing the task by 2020. The partners said in a statement that they will "adhere to the highest standards" of genome assembly, annotation, alignment, and analysis.
